Mezzanine Floors from Storage Solutions

Mezzanine floors are a very effective way of increasing space. Often, this can enable companies to expand or contract their operations or to run from existing facilities, and so gives a very rapid payback on investment. With proper planning, a mezzanine floor can offer high quality office manufacturing or storage space.

Storage Solutions preferred construction is to have an inset deck construction with deck beams attached directly to the web of the main beams. This offers superior rigidity and stability, also reducing bounce.

Mezzanine Floors can be built to suit any loading requirement. Standard constructions are available from 2.5 to 20kN/sq m.
Design - The Mezzanine Floors are designed, manufactured & installed to the British Standards specification of BS 5050, BS 6399 and the latest edition of the Building Regulations.
Columns - rectangular hollow sections or universal column sections.
Main Beams - Universal beam sections Deck Beams - galvanised cold rolled steel sections
Decking - 38mm T&G particle board, plywood, solid steel plain plate, chequer plate or open steel mesh panels
Handrailing - twin rail galvanised tubular construction, with melamine-faced kickboard/fascia where required.
Fire Protection - one hour fire protection can be incorporated where requested. Alternatively, flame proofing can be introduced to particle board deck.


The above floor was originally supported by timber joists. These were replaced with cold rolled sections, supporting a new birch ply deck, considerably increasing load capacity		This photograph shows an up and over pallet gate, offering protection to personnel working on, and below, mezzanine floors
